Biodiesel is a cleaner burning, domestically produced, renewable and biodegradable fuel derived from vegetable oils. Biodēzl branded premium diesel fuel is currently available from Greenleaf Biofuels only in its pure form (B99.9*). If you are a Connecticut-licensed fuel dealer, we can supply you with quantities from 250 gallons to 6,500 gallons. Biodēzl easily splash blends with the petrodiesel in your tank trailer or tank truck, allowing you to blend the biodiesel to your requirements (i.e. B5, B20). We supply proper documentation with each load certifying that the product meets the current ASTM D 6751 standard, and guarantee that the fuel is delivered at a minimum of 65° F. Winter Use Guidelines
Greenleaf Biofuels' winter-spec biodiesel (sold from September 1 through April 30) can be used in vehicles in the winter, but you must blend pure biodiesel with winterized petrodiesel when operating in temperatures below 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Check with your petrodiesel supplier to make certain you are getting fuel with winter additives. If you are not certain that the petrodiesel you are getting is winterized, we recommend adding cold flow improvers like Power Service Arctic Express Diesel Fuel Antigel. A properly winterized 50% biodiesel blend (B50) is operational down to 20 degrees F, and a properly winterized 20% blend (B20) is operational down to 0 degrees F. The B100 should be dispensed at a minimum of 50 degrees when blending with petrodiesel in the winter. If you do not have a heated garage or other area to store your B100 in the winter, please consider the drum heater and insulating quilt. Turning the heater on one to two hours before pumping will ensure easy dispensing and proper blending of your B100 at colder temperatures.
*Bxx refers to the percentage of biodiesel mixed with petroleum diesel to create a blend. B20, for example, is a blend of 20% biodiesel and 80% No. 2 diesel fuel. Biodezl B99.9 contains .1% petrodiesel to meet the federal biodiesel excise tax credit requirements.
